Description

I'm none too sure how to feel about this one. Anguirus has a distinctive appearance, to be sure, and I knew that balancing the design with realism would be difficult, but I hadn't anticipated just how exaggerated the original suit's features were. The teeth extend back to an absurd degree and in the far back even overlap just to occupy the same space. That said, there have been stranger jaw configurations.

I based the details on more primitive thyreophorans such as scelidosaurus, and today's gharials.

This skull measures an approximate 5.33 metres tall by 9.83 metres long, not counting horns. It's interesting that it is so small compared to the skulls of other Showa monsters, only slightly larger than that of Rodan. It would seem that the designers opted to give their monsters smaller heads to emphasize their immense bodies. Didn't help GyakushuGoji look any less skinny, but it did give Anguirus his bulky look. The late Showa design seems to change the head-to-body ratio, but I'm not certain.

Anyway, enjoy.

I almost thought that Anguirus was a Armadillosuchus until I discovered he's an Ankylosaur
